Well, I honestly never thought that I would actually blog anything. I am overall a pretty private person and I certainly am not narcissistic enough to think that many people would actually be interested in what I had to say. Oh, some of my family might care a bit, but even then... (I know Sean certainly doesn't hang on my every word). So, I'm not entirely sure why I am firing up this site and I don't know how long it will last (or who I will even tell about it). Probably my goal is mostly a self-therapeutic one. There are a ton of thoughts running through my head, I am having some interesting and frustrating experiences, and I guess I need some kind of outlet for it all. Plus, it really couldn't hurt to document some of the crazy stuff that happens over here. Plus, I'm sure I'll throw in some info and comments and current events that I find interesting...
Right off the bat as I was trying to set this silly up was the question of what to call my blog. I didn't know what the heck to type in that box. The are so many things to call it that would be easy and descriptive, but I found them all cliche and stupid. But I've been watching a lot of DVDs lately (especially while at Sigonella)... So the "Step By Step" part comes from the Jesse Winchester song at the end of season 1 of "The Wire." Who would have figured that Baltimore would make me homesick for the U.S.? I guess I did spend some time in Charm City in the final months before leaving for Italy...
